Adults

Here at Zion there are many opportunities for adults to study, grow in faith, and work as a family in the body of Christ. We welcome you to enjoy being a part of a Church that focuses on the forgiveness of Christ first and foremost, letting His love flow out from there.

Bible Studies

Sunday Morning

An adult Bible Study, led by Pastor Scott Herbert, meets at 11:00 am in the Family Center gym on Sunday morning after the worship service.

Monday Morning

A small Bible study meets on Monday mornings at 9:30 am in the Family Center dining room.

Music

Contact our Music Director Richard Wildhirt if you are interested in joining the Adult Choir or Handbell Choir. We also have several members who play instruments and contribute to the services whenever they are able.

Boards

If you decide to become a member of Zion, please consider serving on one of our Boards.  There are always places and ways to serve on the Board of Elders, Trustees, Evangelism, Youth, Stewardship, and Parish Education. Many of the boards are involved in church or community events throughout the year.

Groups and Committees

Ladies Guild

Zion Ladies Guild is open to all women of the church. We enjoy fellowship with each other and look for opportunities to serve our church and our community. The Ladies Guild hosts a twice yearly garage sale which helps us to support various missions and disaster relief as well as help with special projects around church.

The Sew and Sews

The Sew & Sews are quilters, but you don’t have to sew to get involved. Some embroider, knit, crochet or journal. Just bring what you enjoy and join the fellowship, and don't feel like you need to stay all day! Come for as long or as short as you want. If you want to learn to sew, we are here to help.

During the year, we have several charity projects that we work on. Recently, we started our 5th Friday sew days. These quilts will be kept in reserve for emergencies or disasters that occur locally or nationally.

Men's Club

The Zion Men’s Club spends its time and talents doing what men enjoy: fellowship, eating, and working together. We host the church fellowship events for the chili cook-off, fish fry, Independence Day social, and Wurstfest. We sponsor occasional workdays that are focused on freshening up the appearance of our buildings and landscaping and doing some minor maintenance and repair. Funds raised from fellowship events and other sources (be sure to order your pecans this fall!) are used to support special projects.

Ushers

Duties include handing out bulletins and greeting congregants, ushering members to communion and collecting offering and attendance cards during the service.

 Altar Guild

A group of volunteers whose ministry is to care for the altar, vestments, vessels, and altar linens of the church. We make sure communion is set up and cleaned up each week, care for the candles, paraments, banners, communion ware, and vestments and supervise flower arrangement orders and delivery. We can always use extra hands to help! No exerience is necessary; we’ll teach you everything you need to know.

Bereavement Committee

The Bereavement Committee serves those who are experiencing the loss of a loved one by preparing a meal for the family, usually served in the Parish Hall following the funeral service. Volunteers agree to be available before or after funerals to assist in the preparation of food and to help with set-up, service, and cleanup.

Zion Family Resale Boutique

Open Thursdays, 10am-12pm in the Family Center gym

The Boutique opened on May 4, 2024 to serve Tomball Pregnancy Center clients and the Tomball community.
